November 15, 2008Left at the AltarOK I had this strange dream last night about my ex Steve, we also have a 4mnth old son together, if that helps any. We never have been engaged or talked about marriage It started out at my childhood church. I was in the bridal room waiting for the ceremony to begin. staring at myself in a long mirror. I had on a champagne colored wedding dress with gold roses on it. the dress kinda looked like some Disney princess ball gown. (I'm not sure if you need to know all that. ) When all of a sudden my best friend, his sister walks in and tells me I look pretty. After waiting what seemed for hours I got antsy and decided to find out what was taking so long. I found one of his friends and they said Steve had left. in all the confusion his friend asked to borrow my cell phone. and for some reason that stuck out. it was a pink flip phone. i don't even own one of those. After I gave his friend the phone I decided to go looking for him. the farther I went into the church it began to change into an old timey movie theater. which kinda looked like an opera house. After going into each one of the theaters a tall dark haired and from what I could tell good looking man stopped me and said,"Just stop looking someone else is here that loves your more than he ever will. " The thing is I couldn't make out the mans face. The dream ended there. I hope you can tell me what it means. Liz Just because you have never discussed marriage with Steve, that doesn't mean that you haven't thought about it. Regardless of the harsh realities of life, it's perfectly natural to want a dream wedding and a happily-ever-after. This is what the Disney-princess dress and the pink Barbie phone point out to me - that this sequence is a fantasy, and you know it is. When Steve leaves you at the altar, this represents your break-up. It put an end to the fantasies you might have entertained about marriage. My guess is that that time of your life left you in a pretty bad state of confusion, and you were feeling lost. When the church turns into a movie house, this is another separation of fact and fiction, representing your healing time when you began to accept matters as they are. The man in the theatre has no face because his identity is not important - his message is what matters. And I think we can take this message verbatim - that there is someone else who loves you more. Who might this person be? Well, the obvious choice is your son, but your subconscious mind might be trying to tell you that there is someone in your life that you've been overlooking - someone who just might be the one to make that dream come true. If you've been wrapped up in all the bad things that have happened to you, it would be easy to miss the good things that are about to happen. The dream is saying, "Don't give up hope - keep your fantasies alive." Posted by Peregrin at November 15, 2008 04:52 AMComments
