Most of the time, with a dream like this, it's more about how you feel about the situation, than what the other person is going to do. Since you're going through so much anxiety, fearing that he won't come back, your subconscious is saying that 1) you do want him back, despite any disagreements, and 2) odds are that he will, as it's what makes the most sense -- to you, at least.

Unless you can see the future, I'd have to say that this is the most likely analysis. I'm not saying that it's impossible, but dream precognition is rare and not scientifically proven.
